Submissions

All Things Lighting® Association maintains an ad hoc volunteer Science and Engineering Editorial Board drawn from the lighting community. The Science and Engineering Editorial Board reviews submissions as time permits. If your submission is approved, you will be notified when and on what platform your submission will be published. The Science and Engineering Editorial Board reserves the right to edit articles for clarity, spelling, grammar, and formatting and to ensure the overall readability of the submission for the intended platform.

The submission requirements include:

  • Articles and commentary must be submitted in editable form, such as Microsoft Word.
  • Articles and, where appropriate, commentary must be supported by in-text citations and corresponding references in a consistent format of the author’s choice.
  • Sources for further reading are strongly encouraged.
  • Full name(s) of the author(s), including any institution and affiliations, must be provided.
  • Any time sensitivity for an article must be included. While All Things Lighting® Association will make reasonable efforts to review and, if warranted, publish your article or commentary in a timely manner, the nature and make-up of All Things Lighting® Association’s Editorial Board may prevent All Things Lighting® Association from committing to publication within a set time.
  • Any prior or (known) future publication of the article outside of All Things Lighting® Association must be provided.
  • Up to one (1) page abstract must be included with the article.
  • Submissions shall not contain disparaging language.
  • Submissions shall not be used to promote specific products.

The submission will be rejected and may be returned to you for revisions if any of the above criteria are not met.

While All Things Lighting® Association will make reasonable efforts to advise you if, when, and on what platform(s) a submission will be published in advance of its publication, All Things Lighting® Association reserves the right to inform you of publication after publication.
